The City of West Hollywood and LA Weekly present the multiple, award-winning West Hollywood Book Fair that will take place on Sunday, September 28, 2008 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at West Hollywood Park, 647 North San Vicente Boulevard in West Hollywood. The West Hollywood Book Fair will feature stages with more than 300 celebrated authors and artists appearing on panels and as special guests, storytelling, poetry and theatrical performances and writing workshops. The West Hollywood Book Fair is one of Southern California’s most eclectic literary events attracting over 20,000 readers and writers of all ages and interests. Numerous Southern California book sellers and literary non-profit organizations will exhibit at the West Hollywood Book Fair.
The West Hollywood Book Fair will also feature diverse programming for all ages and interests including teens; Seniors; members of the LGBT community; a Kid’s Stage and activities for families with children; Russian speaking authors; poetry and performance stages; a Whole Foods Cooking Stage; a Comics Scene; a People and Politics stage; entertainment and mystery panels and a variety of other attractions. For new writers, the West Hollywood Book Fair offers panels that include tips from industry professionals on subjects such as preparing for publishing.

The Women’s International Film and Television Showcase (The WIFTS, http://www.thewifts.com), a new showcase recognizing the talents of women in film and television, will take place December 4 – 7, 2008, at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood .
The Women’s International Film & Television Showcase will focus on the work of women producers, directors and cinematographers from around the world. It will open with a world premiere on December 4th and close with an awards ceremony and premiere on Sunday, December 7th. A total of 16 films will have their world premieres during The WIFTS at the ’s Silver Screen Theater, with four films being screened each day.
